The problem with the New Atheist movement for morality without God stems from humanism and a lack of obedience towards God the Father. When one holds a humanist mindset, the individual becomes god to himself. One just lives life fulfilling the lust of his flesh. This does not mean that they are sinful in a sexual nature, but rather the sin of their flesh is the denouncement of God. They lack a fear of God and His authority because they are unlearned in the way of God. They have not come to the knowledge of the truth. Instead, they have become knowledgeable in the ways of man, making themselves like gods for their disciples.
These pioneers go to great lengths to teach that if you don’t believe what they are saying then you are foolish. To the contrary, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Pro 1:7). The man that directs his own steps and denounces the Lord is the one that is foolish, not those who love the Lord and walk in His ways. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Pro 9:10). In a similar fashion we see that real wisdom begins with a fear of the Lord, and that a real knowledgeable understanding comes with knowing God. Yes indeed “The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” (Ps 14:1a). Thus when one believes there is no God and becomes his own standard of righteousness, “They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good” (Ps 14:1b).
The followers of this movement are void of understanding that God’s ways are better than their own. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Is 55:8-9). The real problem here is that these advocates and their followers don’t respect the Biblical authority of God and His Word.
